The Thirsty Crow
On a scorching summer afternoon, a tired and thirsty crow flew across a dry, silent forest. His wings felt heavy. His throat was parched. He searched high and low — under leaves, between branches, across open fields — but there was no water in sight.
Just when he was about to give up, he spotted something — a clay pot sitting under a tree! With hope fluttering in his heart, the crow swooped down eagerly. He peeked inside... and yes! There was water — but only a little, resting at the bottom. Far too low for his beak to reach.
The crow tilted his head, thinking. He could’ve flown away in frustration. But instead, he paused… and looked around.
Then he saw them — small pebbles scattered on the ground.
A spark lit in his eyes.
One by one, he picked up the pebbles and dropped them into the pot. Clink. Clink. Clink. Slowly, the water began to rise. Higher and higher. With each pebble, the crow grew more hopeful.
Finally, the water reached the brim. The crow dipped his beak and drank deeply, sweet relief washing over him. He flapped his wings with joy and flew away, refreshed — not just with water, but with pride in his cleverness and persistence.
Moral of the story: You can solve any problem if you think smart and don’t give up!
