The Fox and the Grapes
One hot afternoon, a hungry fox was wandering through the countryside, his stomach rumbling with every step. As he passed by a quiet vineyard, something caught his eye — a beautiful bunch of grapes hanging from a vine. They were plump, purple, and glistening in the sunlight.
His eyes widened. “Ah, those look delicious! Just what I need!” he thought, licking his lips.
Without wasting a moment, the fox took a running leap — but missed.
He tried again. And again. Each time he jumped, he came close… but not close enough. The grapes dangled just out of reach, swaying slightly in the breeze, almost teasing him.
After several tries, the fox sat down, panting and annoyed. He looked up one last time and scoffed, “Hmph! Those grapes are probably sour anyway!”
And with that, he turned and walked away, pretending he didn’t care — but deep down, he knew the truth. He had given up.
Moral of the story: Don’t make excuses when something is hard—keep trying!
